On World Prematurity Day, the Department of Neonatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the awareness class on "Risk Factors and Management of Preterm Birth" for Elanthoor Anganwadi workers. The awareness session was held at the Elanthoor Block Panchayat Hall on 15th November 2024. Dr. Dona Mary Philip (Consultant Gynaecologist), Dr. Arun Thomas (Consultant Neonatologist) and Dr. Aparna Sankar R. (Jr. Consultant Gynaecologist) led the sessions. Over 100 Anganwadi workers from various areas attended the class.

The Department of Neonatology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the Moms & Miracles Meetup (a gathering of premature babies and their families who delivered at KMC Hospital) on Saturday, 9th November 2024. The High-Risk Clinic for developmental follow up was Inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Alexander Koodarthil (Managing Director, KMC Hospital, Chengannur).
