On World Prematurity Day, the Department of Neonatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the awareness class on "Risk Factors and Management of Preterm Birth" for Elanthoor Anganwadi workers. The awareness session was held at the Elanthoor Block Panchayat Hall on 15th November 2024. Dr. Dona Mary Philip (Consultant Gynaecologist), Dr. Arun Thomas (Consultant Neonatologist) and Dr. Aparna Sankar R. (Jr. Consultant Gynaecologist) led the sessions. Over 100 Anganwadi workers from various areas attended the class.

ATPP Training (Accident Treatment Programme with Public Support) for Pathanamthitta Police Department (3rd Batch) at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur on 08th November 2024. Smt. Sreeja Sambath (Clinical Psychologist, KMC Hospital, Chengannur) and Fr. Bibin Baby (Psychiatric Counsellor, KMC Hospital, Chengannur) led the awareness sessions.

The function was inaugurated by Smt. Chaitra Teresa John IPS (District Police Chief, Kollam) and was graced by the presence of Shri Jeeji N (Addl. Dy. Commissioner, Kollam) and Shri A. Prateep Kumar (ACP, Special Branch, Kollam). The ATPP sessions were led by Dr. Arun Raj S. L (Consultant Emergency Medicine, KMC Hospital), Dr. Rajeev R. (Consultant Neurosurgeon, KMC Hospital) and Dr. Ruben John (Consultant Psychiatrist, KMC Hospital).

Dr. Deena Thomas (Consultant Neonatologist) and Dr. Rony Joseph (Consultant Neonatologist & Paediatrician) chaired sessions and Dr. Arun Thomas (Consultant Neonatologist) participated in the panel discussion, at the 13th Annual Conference of the Pediatric IAP Dermatology Chapter, organized by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Kerala (IAP Kerala), on 29th September 2024 at Changanacherry.
