Mr. Stanley Chiminikire, Government Representative of Zimbabwe and Chief of Sake, visited KMC Hospital to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of healthcare centers in collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe in its capital city, Harare. Rev. Fr. Dr. Alexander Koodarathil, Managing Director, KMC Hospital, stated that in this agreement, various super specialty treatments will be provided to Zimbabwean citizens under the leadership of KMC Hospital. He further announced that the hospital’s services would soon be expanded to other East African countries as well. Dr. Merit Sigauke also took part in the discussions.

Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organised the Seminar on – ‘Update on Palliative and End of Life Care’ by Dr. Sunitha Daniel (Lead Consultant in Palliative Medicine, York and Scarborough teaching NHS Hospital Foundation Trust, York, UK). The function was graced with the presence of Dr. Sarah J. Easaw (Medical Director & Consultant Oncologist, Oncology Centre, KMC Hospital), Dr. Nidhun V. The Department of Infection Control and Prevention at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the awareness class at Mor Severios Higher Secondary School(MSHSS), Ranni. Mr. Johncy Joseph (Infection Control Nurse, KMC Hospital) and Ms. Jithu Johny (Infection Control Nurse, KMC Hospital) led the awareness sessions.

Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the Mental Health Awareness Programme at Sree Ayyappa College, Eramallikkara. The awareness sessions were led by Dr. Reuben John (Consultant Psychiatrist, KMC Hospital) and Fr. Bibin Baby (Psychiatric Counsellor).

Department of Neonatology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the Poster Competition as part of 'World Breastfeeding Week (1st – 7th August 2025)'. The first prize was awarded to Ms. Ranji Kurien (Staff Nurse, Neonatal ICU), the second prize to Dr. Jibi Zacharia (CCU) and the third prize to Ms. Meera Mariyam Skariah (Project Coordinator, Research & Development). The prizes were distributed by Dr. Arun Thomas (Consultant Neonatologist), Dr. Aparna B. Raj (Jr. Consultant Neonatologist) and Dr. Rebecca John (COO).

Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences organized the Mental Health Awareness Programme at M.S.S High School, Mavelikkara Dr. Sreeja Sambath (Clinical Psychologist, KMC Hospital, Chengannur) and Fr. Bibin Baby (Psychiatric Counsellor, KMC Hospital, Chengannur) has led the awareness sessions.

R (Consultant Neurosurgeon, KMC hospital, Chengannur) at IMA, Mavelikkara.

Department of Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur, organized the 'Laparoscopic Hernia Live Surgery Workshop'. The workshop was led by Dr. Farish Shamsudeen (Consultant Minimally Invasive & Laparoscopic Surgeon, KMC Hospital) and his dedicated team. Department of Fire & Safety at Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, in association with the Fire & Rescue Station, Chengannur and District Disaster Management Authority, Alappuzha, organized the workshop on ‘Skills to Effectively Manage Fire and Disasters’. The training session on ‘Fire Safety, Firefighting & Fire Management’ was led by Shri. Prasanth S. P. (Grade Senior Fire & Rescue Officer, Chengannur), Shri. Subeesh S. (Fire & Rescue Officer, Chengannur) and Shri. Shahid Ali M. (Fire & Safety Officer, KMC Hospital). The session on Disaster Management was conducted by Smt. Chinthu C.
