Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Shri P. Prasad inaugurated the Advanced Centre for Neurosurgery with specialized Neuro-Oncology Centre, Endoscopic Brain & Spine Clinic, Integrated Neurovascular Centre and Minimally Invasive Spine Services.

The function was presided by Rev. Fr. Dr. Alexander Koodarathil (Managing Director, KMC Hospital) and the Scientific Presentation of Neuro-Oncology was delivered by Dr. M. V. Pillai (Advisory Board Chairman, Oncology Centre, Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur; Clinical Professor of Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA; President of International Network of Cancer Treatment & Research (INCTR USA).

NEUROCON ’25 – International Conference on Neurosurgery captivated the audience with insights into the groundbreaking Scientific Sessions. Dr. C. Anu Thomas (Director & Sr. Consultant Neurosurgeon, Indo American Hospital, Vaikom) explored the ‘Evolution of Discectomy’. Dr. Aliasgar Moiyadi (Professor and Chief – Department of Neurosurgery, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai) delved into the ‘Current guidelines in management of Glioma Diagnosis and Management’. Dr. Easwer H. V. ( Professor and Former Head, Department of Neurosurgery, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum) shed light on ‘Trigeminal Neuralgia’. Dr. Ari G. Chacko (Sr. Consultant Neurosurgeon, Director of Neurosciences, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai) discussed the ‘Comprehensive Management of Pituitary Adenomas’. Dr. Atul Goel (Sr. Consultant Neurosurgeon, Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai) explained the ‘Newer Concepts in Spine Surgery.’ The innovative approach of ‘Transforaminal Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy (TELD)’ was explained by Dr. Sathish Chandra Gore (Chairman, Mission Spine Foundation, Pune) and Dr. M. V. Pillai discussed the advancements in ‘Brain metastases’.

These sessions were enriched by the presence of esteemed Chairpersons including Dr. P. K. Balakrishnan (HOD – Neurosurgery, Al Azhar Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital, Thodupuzha; Former HOD – Neurosurgery, Govt. Medical College, Kottayam), Dr. Rajesh Kumar. J (Senior Consultant – Neurosurgery, Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla), Dr. Raju Paul Manjooran (Associate Professor – Neurosurgery, Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla), Dr. Deepu Abraham Cherian (Consultant Neurosurgeon, St. Gregorios Medical Mission Hospital, Parumala), Dr. Geo Paul K. Jose (Consultant Neurosurgeon, Muthoot Hospital, Kozhencherry) and Dr. Sarah J. Easaw (Medical Director & Consultant Oncologist, Oncology Centre, Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur).
