There is a day for birth & death, men & women, mothers & fathers. Then why not a day for doctors for the effort they have put in? The day for doctors in India is celebrated on the 1st of July every year.

National Doctor’s Day is celebrated in memory of both the birth and death day of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was a great physician of all times, whose life could serve as a great inspiration for the upcoming generations.

Here is why we at Dr. K. M. Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences believe we should acknowledge the sacrifices made by the doctors and start celebrating the National Doctor’s Day.

1. Being a doctor is not a 9-5 job, but a 24/7 duty.

2. To save their loved ones, they stay away from their loved ones.

3. They don’t have the luxury of staying away from deadly viruses.

4. Tired of wearing masks? Imagine being in the PPE like the doctors.

5. They go through a lot of stress seeing the pain & deaths of patients.

6. Not every patient are relaxed and easy to deal with.

7. They devote their life just to save other people.

Eating well and exercising regularly would help one to be fit. But we can’t protect our health beyond a certain point, and this gap can only be filled by the Doctors. So, let’s unite to thank every single doctor out there. Take a few minutes off your time, and spread smiles for they helped in making the world a better place to live. Salute!
