Martha Mariam Samajam (Women’s Wing of the Orthodox Church of India) organized an Awareness Seminar at Adoor St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Kilivayal, in association with the Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur.
Dr. Sarah J. Easaw (Medical Director & Consultant Oncologist at the Oncology Centre, Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences) has led the awareness seminar on the topic of “Cancer in Women, Immune System and Prognosis: A Review.” The inauguration was done by Rev. Fr. Joseph Samuel Tharayil (President, Martha Mariam Samajam of Adoor Kadambanad Diocese) and the event was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Dr. Alexander Koodarathil (Managing Director, KMC Hospital), Rev. Fr. Jiju John, Rev. Fr. Jibin Sabu, and Trustee Shri. Geevarghese B. Over 300 participants including members of the Martha Mariam Samajam from 15 parishes in Adoor attended the seminar.
“As cancer diseases, including breast cancer, are increasing in our lives, women should be aware of this and seek early diagnosis. Regular health check-ups and immediate attention to symptoms, with the availability of expert medical services, can significantly increase the chances of saving lives from cancers such as breast cancer,” Dr. Sarah Easaw said.
