The blessing ceremony for the advanced machines — TACE (Terumo Automated Component Extractor) and Terumo Sterile Connecting Device was held at the Blood Centre of Dr. KM Cherian Institute of Medical Sciences, Chengannur.
The TACE system ensures standardization by reducing operator variability, provides a better yield of platelets and operates as a closed system, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination and improving overall component quality.
The Terumo Sterile Connecting Device helps maintain a closed system, is highly useful in exchange transfusion procedures and further prevents contamination, ensuring enhanced safety and efficiency in blood component handling.
The function was graced by the presence of management representatives, Dr. Junith Thomas (Consultant in Transfusion Medicine), Dr. Ali Abdul Latheef and Dr. Akhila Sekhar (Consultant Pathologist), along with staff from various departments.
